English Language + University Foundation Course
Start Dates: January
End Date: June
Progression to University: September
Core Subjects: March
Elective Subjects: June
The course is designed to be completed in 6 months and as such ideal for international students studying in the UK on Short-term Study visas.
Students on the course will undertake eight subjects from January to March. These comprise of four compulsory Core subjects plus three Elective subjects, together with English language. Examinations for the Core subjects will take place in March. The results will be known in April.
Intensive classes for the three Elective subjects will continue from April until June. Examinations for the Elective subjects will take place in the third week of June. The final results will be released in the second week of July. This will enable students to confirm their university offers and start preparing for their return to the UK to start their degree courses in September.
Students will be advised to start undertaking their IELTS examination from April, as it is imperative that they must attain B2 of CEFR if UK universities are to accept them.
The course will only run from January to June every year. Completed online application forms are welcomed from potential students. Because the course is next scheduled to start on 16th January, 2017, students with our Visa Letters and evidence of their ability to maintain themselves in the United Kingdom for 6 months without having recourse to employment will be eligible to apply for short-term study visas immediately from the British High Commission or British Embassy in their country. Successfully students completing their course in June, 2017 will progress to UK universities in September, 2017.
Please note that our team at LCBL will assist students with their UCAS applications, which take place between April and May. Before returning to their countries in early July, successful students would have received offers from UK universities of their choice. Once their final IUFP results are released, they will be able to confirm their university offers and return to the United Kingdom to commence their degree study at UK universities.
You will need 5 GCSEs ‘O’ Levels (or equivalent qualifications in your country) at grades A*-C which must include English language and Mathematics. Please note that your equivalent qualifications must have been taken within the last 5 years. Moreover, if you have taken an IELTS examination, please include it when you apply, as it will be taken into consideration before an offer is made, though it is not mandatory.
